Logitech Speaker System Z623

I mainly got this set for music and some games. After the terrible disappointment with the Logitech Z506, I decided to try my chances on this set. I was afraid the bass is too overpowering for music but it turned out perfect.Pros+ Bass is truly clean and powerful+ Great highs and mids as well+ No buzzing, humming, crackling noises+ On-speaker bass and volume controls w/ aux and headphonesCons- Speaker wires alittle short. Maybe 2 feet more would of been nice.- More expensive than the z-2300Overall for music lovers and gamers, this set is a great investment.

Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer (Black)

I bought my Z-4 system to replace an older Altec 2.1 system that lacked a volume control and headphone jack. The Altec was less expensive, but its sound was significantly better. The Z-4 system has a muffled mid-range, poor transient response, and relatively high subwoofer distortion. Subwoofer position makes a significant difference in perceived bass response. Imaging is average, with a limited sound stage. To be sure, the Z-4 beats any 2.0 system I've heard, but even with a high quality sound card and graphic equalizer, I am unable to make it sound "right."If you don't have high expectations for sound quality, you will appreciate the unit's attractive satellites, good fit and finish, easy hook-up, and convenient control module. If your primary objective is good sound, though, the Z-4 is probably not for you.

Logitech Surround Sound Speaker System Z906 (980-000467)

I purchased this product to replace the Logitech Z5500, which had served well. Unfortunately, the Z906 had a number of flaws that makes this a "no-buy" review.1. The quality of sound coming from the (500w!) system was markedly lower than the Z5500 -- particularly from the subwoofer, which is about 30% smaller than with the older system. While apparently good enough to be "THX-certified," nevertheless when connected to a PC with the same (new) soundcard, the bass was less powerful and tinny, and the front channel speakers, even after adjustment, had a thin sound quality.2. More importantly, the control unit was a dud. After about 1-2 minutes of playing, the unit would turn itself off and no audio would play. The unit had to be manually turned off and on (accompanied by a loud crackle) to restore the sound, which would then go off again 1-2 minutes later. When calling Logitech support, they advised me to reset the unit (by powering the control unit down, and then pressing the input button for 8 seconds). This restored the sound for a slightly longer time (4 minutes) and then the unit again shut itself off. When I called Logitech Support again, they admitted this new product must have some manufacturing defect and they could not troubleshoot. They advised me to return the product to the retailer, which I have done through Amazon's easy return system. When I checked the Logitech forums, I realized that several others (in the US, in Germany) reported the same problem…

Cambridge Soundworks designs and manufactures excellent audio products, especially at the high end. Like all audio companies, they have to make compromises on their more inexpensive products. For the price, this is probably the best 2.1 system out there.

M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 Powered Speakers (Previous Version)

These speakers sound fantastic. For the first few months I had them, I considered them worth every penny.Unfortunately, mine died shortly after that. Within the past year, M-Audio has picked up a reputation for terrible build quality. Judging from the M-Audio user forums, the most frequent problem with these speakers is a big imbalance in volume between the left and the right speakers. If you're in the market for a pair of speakers or studio monitors, save yourself the trouble and just look elsewhere, at least until M-Audio cleans up their act. There's no point in gambling $150 on these speakers.

Creative ZiiSound DSx Wireless Subwoofer for ZiiSound Modular Speaker Systems

All by itself, the Zii Sound system (D5x in my case) is a nice little sound system. But, if you add this Subwoofer, the nice little sound system becomes a WOW sound system. My teenagers LOVE this Zii Sound system (D5x + Subwoofer). The subwoofer is wireless & it took us a couple of tries to link up, but when it did, you could sure tell the difference! The bass just booms & adds a nice richness to the sound. With this subwoofer, the music easily fills up our 30'x60' room and provides a fantastic listening experience.*** I received the subwoofer free from the manufacturer to review in connection with the D5x, which was a Vine product offering ***

Bose Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System - Graphite/Silver

The Bose Companion 5 speakers have the best sound I have heard on any set of computer speakers. The glowing praises given by many of the other reviewers are right on target.I do listen to most of my music through these speakers, which are connected to my one year old Alienware computer. And if that was all I needed from my speakers, I could not be happier. However, as a person who also spends more than 30 hours a week using other USB devices, including a Plantronics headset, a Wacom drawing tablet, a scanner/printer, mouse and keyboard, I would not recommend these speakers for the simple reason that the Bose speakers take a very large amount of USB bandwith. Before I owned these speakers, I was not aware that USB bandwith would ever be a problem.Practically speaking, I cannot fully use programs like Ventrillo while I play online games (WOW and WAR); I cannot listen to music with WMP while using any voice messaging program (MS Messenger); and I cannot listen to music while using my Wacom tablet with programs like PAINT and such.I do give this product 4 stars, though I still waver over whether I should give it only 3. By the way, this issue is acknowledged by BOSE on their web site, with no work around given, other than to limit the use of any other USB device.

Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System

I, like alot of people, eagerly awaited my arrival of this system. I am quite pleased with the system, but there are a few things I am not fond of.PROS: VERY LOUD, very good to use as a home theatre system, the control box is very easy to use and the rotary knob is very precise. The subwoofer is HUGE and will shake the room, or in my case, the entire dormitory. Speaker quality is very clear, even when pushed to the limits. The price was astonishing for 1000 watts of power, although, I did not order it from Amazon.CONS: The subwoofer is huge, thus it does not play rock music very well, as it has no 'kick'. It does play rap, hip hop, or anything where the bass drops ASTONISHINGLY, but this doesnt help me too much. At low volumes, you can hear the sub, but it is not very defined because its so big that it needs alot more power to get it working in its efficiency range. Also, I was wishing that there was a seperate 'subwoofer volume' and 'main volume'. There is a subwoofer control, but that only works like a bass control, playing the bass deeper, but not necessarily louder. In order to get the loud bass, the main speakers also get quite loud, but at the parties we have here, bass is what gets people moving, not high-frequencies.VERDICT: Although I am still pleased with the system, I do not think that it rivals Kiplisch Ultra line of speakers. My roommate has Kiplisch Ultra 2.1's, and although my sound quality is better, and louder, his subwoofer makes up for the difference, easily…

Creative ZiiSound D5x Modular Wireless Speaker System with Bluetooth Transmitter

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)Once I figured out the controls of the ZiiSound wireless speaker, I was able to stream music from my iMac, MacBook, iPhone, iPad, and even my iPod Classic, thanks to the included Bluetooth transmitter. Even better, the speakers have surprisingly big sound for a single speaker unit. If I wanted, I could even set up a multi-channel sound system, without using a receiver, by purchasing separate speakers. Note: although I will reviewed the Creative ZiiSound DSx Wireless Subwoofer (51MF8125AA000), this review covers the sound and functionality of just the master speaker -- that is, the product being sold on this page. The speaker measures 16.5" long by 3.5" deep by 3.5" high, the perfect size for a desk, book shelf, or table top. It will amplify the sound from any Bluetooth device. If you have a non-Bluetooth, docking Apple product (or if you don't want to set up Bluetooth), Creative Labs includes a Bluetooth transmitter that doubles as a docking connection. Creative Labs makes a USB device, Bluetooth Audio USB Transmitter, that can give your non-Bluetooth computer connectivity, but you'll have to purchase it separately. This master speaker comes with a collection of numbered rubber pieces to insert in the back of the docking area to stabilize your Apple device while it is charging and/or playing while attached; you just have to find your device in the instruction booklet and match it with the number on the…

Logitech Z-5 USB Stereo Speakers for Mac and PC

These speakers are great. They look good and sound even better. The USB connection provides both the sound and the power. No need for a separate power cord. The speakers have a 360 degree design with sound ports front and rear, filling the room with sound that seems to encircle you. The USB connection also makes it easy to move the speaker from one computer to other, be it a MAC or a PC. The stereo speakers are small enough you can take them with you on vacation, along with your laptop. The sound produced by their speakers is full and rich, no tinny sounding high end, and a strong low end. The two-unit design is ever bit as good and the three-unit design they replaced.

Creative ZiiSound D3x Modular Wireless Speaker System

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)The ZiiSound D3x is a full range speaker that connects wirelessly to your Bluetooth-enabled phone, computer, or tablet and produces better sound, period, than any of those devices can produce. It is reasonably compact, about the width of a DVD/BluRay player, and about 3.5" high and deep. Rubber feet on the bottom protect whatever it's placed on. The top of the front panel contains the most frequently used controls: Connect (for pairing) Link (for connecting to other speakers in the system), and Volume buttons. Discreet white LEDs mark these buttons. A rear power switch turns power on and/or wakes the speaker (in general use, just establishing a Bluetooth link wakes the speaker from standby). There's a port on the rear too.Pros:Expandable: You can start with one D3x, add a subwoofer, add another D3x for greater stereo separation, add a third D3x for a Left-Center-Right home theater type of setup. All communicating wirelessly. Wonderful.Very good sound: The D3 has a wonderful balanced sound. High frequency is nice and crisp without being painful or harsh. Midrange is natural and real-sounding. These 2 give a wonderful sound to acoustic type music. Even so, there is a fair amount of bass from the speaker too, thanks to a rear firing port. Alone the D3x works well with most types of music, except those that are super bass heavy. For bass-heavy music, a DSx subwoofer is really the ticket to provide the loud low range…

Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 Active Multime

First, I want to say that these speakers sound amazing, and are perfect just how they are for 95% of the music I listen to. I love to listen to music while I work. I listen to classic rock, jazz, folk, acoustic, even some ambient electronic. These speakers are crystal clear in the highs and mids, and they even pump out super clear, well balanced bass.Sometimes, usually on a Friday or Saturday night when I'm researching where to go out to, I listen to music that is intended to have over-emphasized bass. Unfortunately, no speakers without a subwoofer can properly play some heavy electronic/dubstep/dance/hiphop. On a Mac, there is a way to set up a multiple output audio device in the midi setup. Since these are USB speakers, you can attach a subwoofer to your headphone jack and run both outputs at the same time if you select the multiple output device you created. You can't adjust volume the normal way like this though. You have to open midi setup and adjust each independently. Not a big inconvenience for me since 95% of the time I'm not running these with the subwoofer, but for those who listen to that kind of music occasionally, it's nice to know the option is there. I wouldn't recommend these speakers for bass heads though. That being said, if most of the music you listen to requires chest thumping bass, I still would not recommend this system. I would look at a 2.1 speaker system. You just won't get that feeling without a large subwoofer, and you probably don't require the kind…

Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-Power 2.1 PC Speaker System (CA-SP211NA)

Time for my Biased review which probally wont count for much. I am not a audiophile and I dont know much about speakers. I do have quite good hearing though, I can usually hear something before my dog does, and I can hear a out of tune violin in a full Orchestra.I like Corsair products they have NEVER faild me. In my current setup I use their Power Supply, RAM, Solid State Drive and all are performing as intended. Naturally when I heard Corsair wanted to branch into Audio I went ahead and replaced my old $12 CA speakers to support the company. I cant tell you what a audiophile can because I dont know what a "good" speaker is. I will tell you that these sound better than my friends Sound sticks and ALMOST on par with my Harmon Kardon surround sound in my car! This was a major step up for me, All my life I never invested into a speaker, and I honestly couldn't be more happy! Not sure about the neighbors though when you really crank it up bass really has some kick to it.I chose these over the M-Audio Steriophile 2.0, Creative T20 2.0, Soundsticks III, and Logitech Z623. And like you guys I did lots and lots of research. So good luck on your hunt! I will vouch for these 2.1 speakers though, money well spent!Chris

Creative Inspire S2 Bluetooth Wireless Multimedia Speaker System

SET UP :Set up was quick & straightforward. I did not have any issues.SOUND :For the given specifications (RMS value / power o-p of the speaker), this has amazing sound quality & loudness. It is more than a computer speaker. It could serve more like a music system. Your computer or laptop or ipad or ipod or any mp3 player would be the source and this speaker is wirelessly connected to your source. The result is a great music system, which fills the room (around 400 sq foot room).BLUETOOTH :The speakers pair instantly with the included USB Bluetooth transmitter (connected to your computer's USB port - in my case running Windows vista). I did a several tests to find out if it could pair under most circumstances. While it was playing, I turned off the power using the switch in my wall (power outlet). After few minutes, I turned the switch on. Then I had to turn on the power button on the side of the satellite speaker. It paired instantly after that. As a second test, I then pulled the USB Bluetooth transmitter from the computer. Then put it back in. It paired instantly after that. (You would have to re-start the music playing software when you pull the Bluetooth transmitter from the computer. In my case, I had to restart real player). As a third test, I restarted the computer. It pair instantly & worked perfectly. Sound quality is above average and I am satisfied with the performance for the price.AUDIO-IN : I used my mp3 player and connected it to the audio in port…

Creative GigaWorks T3 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System

I'm a huge fan of Creative speakers and this is the third set I've purchased (the first two were the i-trigue which, unfortunately, are no longer available) and after reading many MANY reviews on a plethora of speaker sets, I thought this set would be a good choice. I enjoyed the bass boom it produced and the sound is very crisp. But after only 3 blissful days of listening to music, the speakers have stopped working. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips available on the Creative website and am now left waiting for a reply to my email sent into the customer service center oblivion. I'm very disappointed as I was hoping to use these speakers for a party in 3 days which clearly won't happen now.In conclusion, the sound is great - if the speakers produce any sound. However, it doesn't matter how good they *can* sound if they don't work at all :(If the customer service center is able to fix the problem, I will update this review.UPDATE: The customer service center was unable to fix my speakers but I was able to send mine back for a free exchange, and the new set has been working just fine. I guess the first set was just bad luck!
